I’ve talked to a local cable rep and it’s surprising how many ads you can get for around $1000 a month. My biggest concern is how may eyes are you really going to get in the VERY busy area of television, especially with so many specialized cable channels. But that could help you also niche your ads to a certain segmentation you maybe looking for, ie. Oprah Channel for college educated women 35 yrs old+ who own their home and has an income of 75K or more.

It suppose it can be useful to fly the BBB sign at the shop, website, ect…I’m sure it will bring in a few people per year. But other than that, I’ve never been a big fan. I’ve always felt like the BBB strong arms you joining and buying their membership. I feel if you run your business the correct way, you won’t need BBB at all.

Just off the top of my head I’d say you have too many employees.
I guess I have a few more questions to ask, like what’s your daily car count? How do you pay your Technicians and Service Writers? How many lifts do you have? How many Service Writer, do you have? How many techs, do you have? What are the kind of jobs mix are you doing now, i.e. oil changes, cars that broke down, vehicle maintenance? Are you marketing your services? What kind of list do you have? What is your hourly labor rate? What do you stock in inventory?
I think once you can answer these questions, then I may be able to further assist.

I just saw there is another company using a pro-rated 3yr/36,000 warranty. First year is 100% but adjusts down at month 13. I’m thinking this could be very smart way to go.
-
You could always give a lifetime warranty for the premium price, using the highest quality parts available or use take away selling, using a less expensive part, for the 2 year warranty. That way the customer can decide what best suits him and his pocketbook.

“Be prepared for the car count… I think we did fair, but failed to
fully service some of the new customers due to being a bit
overwhelmed.”
What was the offer.

I try to check every few weeks. 18 on google and 3 on yelp.

We’ve used it for about 6 months now and I’m very happy with it.

You know where we would be if we kept spending more than we made year after year, that’s right out of business. My 2 cents (sorry the government got that too).

No, the bill paying system isn’t what I had hoped it would be but I do believe Dan is a very good marketer.

Here, here. I can’t agree more.

Discounts can work on anybody, I don’t care how much disposable income they have.

Up 29.5%. Moved April 1st to a larger shop and got out of the small, 3 bay, gas station.

I’m expecting next year to be so much better than this year. Not that this year has been bad. I’m out of an old 3 bay gas station and now have 6 lifts and a lot of open floor space.
