Key #16 Vehicles Per Tech Per Day

For this key number, we want to know the average number of vehicles a tech in our shop services each day.

Last week Acme Auto’s two full time techs serviced 34 cars during the 5 days they were open.
34 vehicles ÷ 5 days = 6.8 vehicles per day
6.8 vehicles ÷ 2 techs = 3.4 cars per tech per day

When looking at this number for a typical independent shop which is solidly profitable, this number will normally run between 3.0 and 3.7.
