Interested to see if anyone is using such an instrument. -
I’m shopping, just like you. I have friends using both systems, and I’ve decided on the Bolt On based on their experiences. The gentleman that is using Auto Vitals is even considering Bolt On right now, so take that for what it’s worth. Auto Vitals looks great, but for my purposes and what I’m trying to accomplish I made my choice. I think they are both good systems.

What was the specific search? I am going to guess that it mostly has to to with the SEO of your website or possibly the categories you’ve selected in your Google business profile.

We have, it’s not much better than being a AAA shop. We are in the process of dumping them.

You also have to consider the market you are swimming in. In smaller markets like mine there aren’t many Yelpers, which really negates the effectiveness of the site. We paid Yelp for 6 months as a marketing experiment and got no new reviews. I would rather focus on our Google+ presence and Google Reviews because those are what drive search results and leads for us.

We’ve had good luck with Rotary and Mohawk. We have a Hunter scissor lift which has worked quite well. We have one Challenger 2-post, which has experienced a few problems. We just purchased a Challenger four post alignment rack over another Hunter, we’ll see how that one stands up.

It totally flopped in the shop and caused our inspection time to go from 15-20 minutes to 40-45 minutes. I’m still looking or one that works for us.

What brand of wheel alignment equipment do you have now? – Hunter’s
new Hawkeye Elite, with the new Quick Grip wheel adapters, Codelink
for setting steering angle, and the bar code reader.
2: How old is it? – one week
3: When do you plan to replace it? last week, our older John Bean VD-3
was costing more to maintain and was down more than we could justify.
4: What brand(s) are you considering next time? We looked at the new
John Bean and it was just an updated version of what we had. Looked
at Bosch also.
Between technicians and service advisers Hunter won hands down. We
are now able to do alignment checks on any vehicle in two minutes or
less and it is paying it’s way as I write this. Technician’s are
including alignment checks in our courtesy inspection when the test
drive raises even the slightest question.

We did a Groupon over 6 weeks ago and sold 186 of the offer, which was
a standard oil change, tire rotation and vehicle inspection for 19.00.
We have had 55 turned in as of this date and the offer expires on 9-
30-11. Our largest invoice was over 1,500 for a/c work and a new
customer. I felt for the deal to work for our shop we wanted a 40%
conversion rate, if recommended are included we are very close to
conversion rate and it is up to us to follow-up and close the
recommended. Would we do it again maybe, the jury is still out at
this time. Our experience has been positive and we did not have the
issues that many of the articles highlighted. I also have a number of
my friends in Pro-Service that have run Groupons with success. So now
you have our other side of the story.
