If invoice printouts are customizable, this makes it easy. Then you have unlimited choices as to what your customer can see.

Invoices are customization. We have the solution check it out. Not only can you control parts numbers and prices being listed, you can set up your invoice to be a marketing tool.

A sophisticated shop management system that is logical and designed to work across many States and legal requirements or minimums should give you options.
Some states for example won’t let a shop not show certain things or individual prices. So, a user should be able to make changes to invoice structure without ruining integrity of data behind the scenes.
For example, you should have the option as described in this article to Show / Not Show part numbers on invoices. Or, to show or not show line item pricing and job totals.
