Grant,
We just started a new pay plan for our techs. We are a large shop with 9 techs, including our LOF tech. There is no more flat rate. They are paid hourly, which makes up about 75% of their pay. The rest of their salary is a bonus that is a percentage of the weekly labor sales. It is divided up based on their production & skill level. It is not about their potential but what they will produce.

What is your goal for average hours produced per tech per week at your shop?
__x___ Less than 30
_____ 30
__x___ 35
__x___ 40
__x___ 45
__x___ 50
__x___ More than 50
We have 10 techs. They do not all produce at the same level as there are different skill levels.

Alvito,
You should first determine what your total estimated expenses will be. From there how much net do you want? If you try to do it the other way what happens if your expenses are more than what you are charging?

Haim,
I’m a little confused by your post. Are you expecting the service advisor to make the phone ring?
