When I say computer literacy, I am referring to things like typing ability, keyboard shortcuts, searches, finding your way around the internet, etc.

I believe this is big issue in many shops but it’s one that is usually ignored for several reasons. We tend to fear what we don’t understand and therefore avoid it. We don’t think we are all that bad at it – even when we are terrible. Owners often aren’t very good at it either.

So, minutes and hours are wasted daily. Diagnosis times are longer than they should be. Parts are incorrect too often. Time spent at a computer workstation is excessive. Completed hours are too low. Money is lost – sometimes a lot of money.

For those of you who have found ways to improve it how did you do it?
