    1: COMPUTER MANAGEMENT:
    A: WORK IN PROGRESS SCREEN:
    -Assign cars/jobs for the techs
    -Prioritize cars/jobs
    -Update car/job status whenever it changes
    -Monitor completion promised times

    B: VEHICLE INFORMATION:
    -Gather the information when the car arrives
    -Check for incomplete information on cars which have already been here
    -Enter the information into computer

    C: OIL CHANGE DUE DATES:
    -Compute the due date based on the mileage history (use 3,000 miles/3 months for cars which are here for the first time)

    2: TECHS/REPAIR:
    A: TEST DRIVES:
    -Drive with customers to observe noises, intermittent symptoms and any other unique issues
    -Perform final test drives for quality control
    B: RO’s:
    -Review new RO’s with the techs
    -Review RO’s after the techs have inspected the car, present to the SA (service advisor)
    -Review sold services on RO’s with the techs
    -Review test and inspection results
    -Review recommendations
    -Suggest notes which should be added to RO’s
    -Review finished RO’s from the techs, get them to the SA
    -Complete the finish (quality control) checklist for each car

    C: WORK FLOW:
    -Get cars which are stuck for any reason out of the shop and get the next one in as soon as possible

    D: ESTIMATES:
    -Monitor cars being inspected for probable estimates; get the information to the SA as soon as possible (before the paperwork is fully completed)
    -When the techs are stuck, assist the SA with estimates, parts, etc. so we can get jobs authorized as quickly as possible.

    E: TECH NEEDS:
    -Answer questions
    -Assist with diagnosis
    -Check for TSB’s
    -Check for recalls
    -Locate and print service information
    -Get special tools for the techs; put them away when finished with them
    -Review service history

    F: LABOR TIMES:
    -Monitor for accuracy
    -Provide reasons for times which are significantly different from normal

    3: PARTS:
    A: PARTS FOR CARS IN PROGRESS:
    -Monitor cars being inspected for probable parts needed, get the information to the SA as soon as possible (before the paperwork is fully completed)
    -Pull sold parts which are in stock and distribute them to the techs
    -Distribute newly arrived parts; inform the techs that they have arrived

    B: PARTS BINS:
    -Monitor old parts disposal
    -Monitor pending parts (parts ordered, but not yet authorized to be installed)
    -Monitor special order parts (need to call customer, return, etc.)
    -Write up returns, move them to the SA area for pick up

    C: INVENTORY:
    -Monitor for organization
    -Add locations for new stocking items

    4: CUSTOMER SERVICE:
    A: QUICK SERVICES:
    -Perform minor services (light bulbs, etc.)
    -Free quick checks as requested by the SA’s

    B: CUSTOMERS:
    -Answer technical questions20when requested by the SA’s

    5: FACILTY/SHOP:
    A: SHOP AREA:
    -Open the shop in the morning according to the opening checklist
    -Close the shop at the end of the day according to the closing checklist
    -Monitor housekeeping in the shop
    -Note shop needs (repairs, supplies, tools, equipment); email them to the shop manager at the end of each day

    B: PARKING:
    -Monitor the parking lot, move cars as needed
    -Remove snow from cars as needed

    C: OFFICE/DESK AREA:
    -Set up an area where you can work efficiently
