Charles Taylor, President of CW Taylor Marketing, Discusses His New Review Generation Software, Soapbox

Charles Taylor, the president of CW Taylor Marketing, an innovative SEO and website company based out of Los Angeles, CA, discusses his new piece of software, Soapbox, an innovative review tool that helps businesses collect reviews from customers.

In the ever changing world of digital marketing it’s paramount to create products that will keep a marketing agency relevant while helping clients get an edge on competitors, especially in the world of the small business owners and entrepreneurs. With 92% of consumers reading reviews online, it’s imperative that businesses have a solid star rating and review quantity on online reputation platforms. It has also been noted that 86% of potential customers who read online reviews will hesitate to use a business that has negative reviews.

“For a while, my team and I discussed the idea of implementing new pieces of software that would benefit our clients. The idea of Soapbox arose when our clients expressed an urge to garner more reviews for their Google, Yelp, and Facebook,” explained Taylor when asked where the idea for Soapbox came from.

Unhappy customers are more likely to go online and leave a bad review than happy customers to come online to leave positive reviews. While satisfied customers do sometimes leave reviews, the majority of happy customers go about their day, and only leave reviews if asked, unless they are an avid reviewer or understand the value of a positive testimonial. On the other hand, unhappy customers seek out a forum to complain or warn others about their experience. That’s why it’s important to minimize bad reviews as much as possible.

“Negative reviews can be detrimental to a business. Our clients are primarily automotive repair shop owners, and it can be trying to get positive reviews for any business, let alone a repair shop. The auto repair industry comes with a stigma, customers are often wary to trust mechanics, and when they are dissatisfied they will speak out, probably online. So we wanted to create a solution for both—a voice for the positive and a platform for the negative.” Taylor elaborated.

Soapbox, the review tool exclusive to CW Taylor Marketing, makes it easy to send out a text message request to customers after their visit. Customers are given a link that opens in their browser and gives them the option to leave a positive review on Google, Yelp, and Facebook. But what about the negative reviews?

“At the beginning Soapbox asks ‘Would you recommend this business?’ If the customer says no, they are not directed to an online reputation platform, but to a comment box, where they can leave their feedback. Then, we forward this information to the shop owner. This gives the shop owner the opportunity to correct the problem and avoid a potential negative review and customer loss, and, at the very least, knowledge of the issue to use for training purposes and future cases. It’s a win/win,” Taylor tells us.
