Need MICHIGAN Shop Owners to call Governor’s Office Regarding Removal of the CORE TAX
SB 991 – SALES TAX ON EXHANGED OR RETURNED CORE CHARGES – ON TO THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE – READ & CALLASA Michigan is proud to say that early this morning we agreed to amended language where it was put to a vote in the House around 3:30am. It was passed and registered for the Senate session which is currently active. Moments ago (12-15-16 at 4:34pm) , the Senate passed the amended version unanimously and it will now go to the Governor’s Office to be signed into law.Please contact the Governor’s office 517-335-7858 and ask for his support in signing Senate Bill 991!Assuming that we get the Governor to sign this bill, the law would be changed effective January 1, 2017 and sales tax would no longer be collected on cores that are exchanged or replaced – Michigan is the only State that does this currently!HB5857 – UPDATING THE MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICE REPAIR ACT – ON TO THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE – READ & CALLASA Michigan is proud to say that yesterday afternoon House Bill 5857 which updates the Motor Vehicle Service Repair Act (minus the original Aftermarket Sheet Metal language – we still had 60 pages of updates that we worked on) passed on the Senate floor and will be sent to the Governor’s Office for signature.Please contact the Governor’s office 517-335-7858 and ask for his support in signing House Bill 5857!
