    Notes:
This whole process should be completed in 10-15 minutes including preparation and uploading. If it is taking much longer than that you may be making it too detailed or complex.
Install a sharing application so that your filming can quickly be found on your computer as this will often make the uploading process easier.

1 Review the repair order and identify the reasons the customer brought the vehicle in. When possible, try to include those issues in the video.

2 After inspections and testing are completed, review the findings and recommendations from the technician.  View each item on the vehicle and determine which ones are likely to show well in a video. Many will not for several reasons. Skip those. Limit your video to things that are easy to show.

3 Make a list of the items that you will be filming. Put it in logical order so that you are taking the shortest route between items and not going back and forth. Divide it into two segments if filming will require raising or lowering the vehicle.

4 Briefly rehearse what you will be saying. Use just enough words to communicate the issue. Avoid going into detailed explanations. The goal is a video that is about 60 seconds long in most cases. Videos that cover several items may run 90 to 120 seconds.

5 Enunciate properly. The audio will sound better, and if you are going to caption the video it will be much easier if words are pronounced clearly.

6 Most cameras and camera phones have a setting that keeps the light on constantly during filming. Turn it on.  Recheck this each time you film.

7 Whenever possible, film with bright or outside lighting at your back.

8 If the filming area includes a license plate, cover it. If there are graphics or lettering on the vehicle that identify a person or company, make sure you do not include them in you filming.

9 If filming the interior of the car, avoid filming anything with personal information on it. Consider moving items that might distract from the video out of the filming area temporarily.

10 Point to or touch the subject item whenever possible. Your finger will work for most items. A pointer will be better with others. NOTE: If the item is moving while you are filming, skip this step.

11 If raising or lowering the car is required for filming all items, pause the filming when during that process.

12 When finished, view the video to make sure that there are no major problems with it. Avoid being too fussy here. Viewers are not expecting a slick, fancy production for this kind of video. If you covered the items reasonably well and there were no large glitches, call it good.

13 Time to upload. Each destination will have a different process, so learn how it works and write personal instructions for yourself according to how you want the result to appear.

    Happy filming!
