A good auto repair shop software will give you a quick and easy way to create, access and report on important information like that.

First, there should be an automatic reminder that pops up when creating a new appointment or repair order for a customer. Any previously stored recommended service should be listed there and give option to select & add quickly to new RO. Ideally, it should be one of the first things asked when starting future work for this customer.

Second, there should be a quick and easy way to store a selected service item off of an active RO, categorize it, possibly assign an expiration date AND track whether was declined service or not. This information should remain permanently with the originating RO. You should also have ability to print this or not for customer on their invoice.

Third, there should be several quick ways to view and access this information. Preferably, right from the service counter so as not to miss potential and critical work for your customers.

Fourth, you should have reports you can run to find out who has recommended services sitting out there so you can market to them.

A great shop management software that’s been around for over 30 years can do all of these things, MaxxTraxx. You can check them out HERE.
