Hi everyone, I am new here. I have been looking at different options for European Diagnostics. I have used the Autologic for bmw, merc, and Volvo and used vcds for vw/audi. Currently I am looking at dealer level options and laptop based systems and came across dealertechtools.com which sells “dealer level diagnostic tooling” for European brands and Im curious if anyone has had experience dealing with this company or these tools listed below.

BMW/Mini – ICOM a2+b+c BMW ICOM RHEINGOLD ISTA-D ISTA-P with Expert Mode Multi Language

    Mercedes Benz SD Connect C4

    vw/audi – VAS PC 5054A/5055

Euro Car Logic, Inc ask for Ami, 516 247 1589

I checked the site, both BMW/MBZ systems are clones, stay away. Both BMW/MBZ are actively restricting clone units that attempt to connect to their sites. We purchased directly from BMW for the ICOM (includes head unit, MOST adaptor, yellow long CAT5 cable. This was around 4-5 K. The Mercedes system comprises two systems, one is around 13k, the other 20k.

Would like to add, You’ll need someone to properly set ISTA up on a lap top. This can be challenging. We use “Euro Car Logic, INC. Contact Ami @ 561 247 1589. He and his company actually work close with BMW to properly and legally, set ISTA up on your lap top.

ISTA like any technology, has a learning curve. BMW is also constantly adding, changing ISTA. Ami is up on all the changes and keeps your system running so we can make $$ using this equipment.

I’ll second the motion for Ami at Euro Car.  Great service which is the most important thing about using BMW online ISTA.  Of course the newest tool is ISPI NEXT.  It is BMWs new stand alone server which is only about $10,000 complete.  It comes with AIR and all the programming and diagnostic software subscriptions at that price.  Not sure I can load document here but there is a pdf that covers the whole program through API.

For MB the cheaper system listed is no longer available.  If you want to play the tool is Xentry Connect with Xentry Tab.  Total price around $25,000.  When one considers that it includes all update subscriptions and Startekinfo for three years it really isn’t such a bad price.  When you consider that it gives one access to MB service and repair to OE standards it is priceless.  Everyone doing this has a clone or two but the late systems need programming and SCN coding for everything.  If you want to be a real MB specialist you must pay to play.

hey everyone thank you for responding, I have not decided on any tools yet. I have run into another tool that seems to be difficult to get a demo on. The Autoland iscan ii wt. it seems to have great potential for upgrading and coverage. From what I can find online it has good reviews and Autoland recently teamed up with identifix to have a direct tech support line through them. Does anybody have any thoughts on the iscan ii? Anyone using it?

    I have a WT.

Depending on what level you wish to service these vehicles at, I wouldn’t recommend it.

BMW OE level is a no brainer.  Maybe not going ISPI, but using a legit ICOMABC and ISTA/D & ISTA/P.

M-B…well…the only way to totally cover your arse is Xentry.

From there it just depends on what level you wish to service the vehicles and how much time you want to spend jumping through hoops and finding all the back-doors to service at near OE level.
