2018 3rd Quarter SHOCK Coming for Auto Repair Shops – Are You Ready?
Most shops are open 5 days a week, 254 days a year or about 21 days per month. July 2018 is a typical 21-day month. But August will be a 23-day month and September will be a 19-day month. This anomaly occurs every few years.
With the summer economy roaring the 23-day August month will make shop owners feel like the king of the world when the numbers come in! Then the kids go back to school in September and there is almost a whole week less to do business. When those numbers come in the shop owner is puzzled why all the customers left – we might have to auction things off soon!
What to do? Don’t fall for the temptation to spend that extra cash after the end of August – you will need it after September. Also, look up your 3rd quarter numbers for last year and compare 3rd quarter 2018 numbers to those to get a more accurate picture. ?
