Definitely takes more time to install a new belt and that has to be charged for like Tom says maybe .1 or .2  back when V belts were the norm not so much but now with serpentine belts the way they wind around everything it takes more time.

We pay for ever test they pass but I find that no one cares about taking them because they can just go down the road to get a job and there not required at the next place

Now I think even less of ASE, all technitions that take tests are turned into guinea pigs we agonize over the questions and come to find out not all questions are counted, they could at least tell you what questions are ” test ” questions but o yea I forgot then they would be giving away their intellectual property.

I have to agree with Tom, as when you were in school if you cheated the one that got hurt was the person cheating eventually it will catch up to you. I would have to imagine that in an industry like ours that there have to be plenty of questions to be asked and if ASE is afraid of the questions being stolen then I don’t think they want to work too hard at deciding what questions to put on a test they just want to cruise through with the same questions over and over. I also think that it is just wrong that they don’t tell you which questions you missed, again when you were in school they always told you which ones you missed and that is what you studied on, also if you’re working on a vehicle and you get stuck for answers do you just sit there or do you go looking for answers ( Alldata, Identifix etc. ) and why would you ask questions that the answer is ” most right “. Sorry if this turned into a rant but over the years I have had too many Techs that had plenty of ASEs and didn’t know a open end wrench from a box end. I think testing is a good idea but ASEs way isn’t working.

Has anyone ever gotten an answer to a question sent to ASEs website I send them often and never recive an answer, is anyone really working there ??

I agree with Tom also, we all would be fooling ourselves if we thought for a minute that the government would be able help our industry by regulating it.
