Farming Headhunter or Mageblood in Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5 isn’t the kind of thing you do by just throwing maps into the device and hoping for the best. You’re trying to bend Ritual rewards in your favour, and that means planning your Atlas, your tablets, and your spend. A lot of players burn through PoE 2 Currency without fixing the basics first, then wonder why the favour window keeps showing junk. The real aim is simple: force more belt-friendly Ritual rewards, earn more Tribute, and reroll the shop enough times to actually see the big chase uniques.
Atlas Setup That Makes The Farm Work
The key Atlas passive is Spreading Darkness. This is the piece that makes the whole strategy feel less random, because it gives unique rewards a strong chance to appear as certain item types based on the Ritual type or biome. For Headhunter and Mageblood hunting, you want Tainted Rituals. Those push the reward pool toward belts, charms, and flasks, which is exactly where you want to be. Jado should be your active Master as well. His tablet-doubling node can turn a good map into a much better one, and Unexpected Mission is worth taking if you hate getting stuck with awful city layouts. Budget And High-Investment Options
The cheaper version can still hit something huge, but you shouldn’t expect miracles every night. Look for tablets with reduced Tribute cost for rerolling favours, ideally around the 20-30% range. If you’re running City maps on a lower budget, an Irradiated tablet helps push the zone toward level 80, which opens the door to better Omens. The expensive version is where the farm starts feeling sharper. City maps are preferred because they allow four tablets, and the premium Ritual tablets with three extra favour rerolls are the big-ticket items.

Don’t skip the deferral cost mod if you can fit it in. Seeing a Mageblood and not having enough Tribute to defer it feels awful. For the premium strategy, use a tier 16 six-mod map at area level 80. That sounds fussy, but it’s the difference between casually running Ritual and actually building a setup that can pay you back. The tablets are expensive because everyone wants the same mods, so don’t be surprised if trade prices look rough during peak hours.
Map Routing Matters More Than It Looks
Once you’re inside the map, don’t clear in a lazy circle. Rush the boss first and complete the boss Ritual before the others. Rituals reuse previously sacrificed monsters in later encounters, so getting the boss into the pool early gives you more Tribute across the rest of the map. After that, clear the remaining Rituals. If you find a summoning circle, do that one next, since the extra density helps the whole chain. It’s a small habit, but it adds up fast over many maps.
