Finally installed my racks and wow what a difference in floor space
Just wanted to share a small win because I’ve been struggling with clutter in my workshop for ages. I was originally looking at heavy duty industrial racks but honestly they were way overkill for what I needed and the price was hard to justify. A friend suggested going with medium duty racking instead since each shelf only needs to hold maybe 300-400kg of boxes and spare parts. I ended up getting a few sections delivered last week and put them together over the weekend. The install was surprisingly straightforward, took me and one helper about four hours to get everything leveled and loaded. Now I’ve got all this vertical space I never knew I had, feels like I doubled my usable floor area overnight. The shelves are sturdy enough that I don’t worry about them buckling, but they’re not so heavy that I can’t reconfigure them later if I need to. One thing I didn’t think about beforehand was making sure the beams clicked in evenly on both sides, had to redo two shelves because I rushed it. Anyway if anyone’s on the fence about getting proper racking instead of just stacking stuff on the floor, do it. Your future self will thank you.
