MaxxTraxx shop management system does do this as well as texting from right inside the program!

You can check out the website here:  MaxxTraxx by Scott Systems

They have been around since the dawn of the auto repair software industry.  There are a lot of features built right in like the ones just mentioned.

For those shops who choose to do in house accounting with Quickbooks.  Here is a quick tip to get your transactions from MaxxTraxx, an auto repair shop management software, into Quickbooks.

    • In MaxxTraxx, click on the Accounting menu
      item at the very top.
    • Then click on Export to QuickBooks
    • The Export Transactions dialog box will open
      up.
    • In this window you will choose your export dates and other
parameters to generate your list of transactions.
    • Select your transactions individually or click the Select
All button to get them all.
    • Click the Export Selected Items button at the
bottom left hand side when you are ready.

This should export a dated file that has a .IIF file
extension at the end to the following location:  c:Scott SystemsMaxxTraxx ProExport

    • Log in to your data file as the Administrator.
    • Switch to single user (SU) mode.
    • From the File menu, choose Utilities , select Import and click IIF Files.
    • Browse to the location of your IIF file and highlight the file.
    • Click Open.
    • QuickBooks pops a message confirming your data has been imported.
    • Click OK on the message.
You have now successfully imported transactions into Quickbooks from MaxxTraxx.
