We also do the latter. Unless it addresses something pertaining the problem, you may very well bring more problems. You cant go back then. What I pay in yearly reflashing updates does NOT even out in what we charge. I just figure thats the cost of doing Diagnostics in a shop.

Up 12% this October from 07 – Up 2% for the year. We are blessed to have ANY increase in this economy!

We tried doing a newsletter – Worked soso. I firmly believe with todays Busy world, people just arent reading this stuff(other than the normal select few) – We send out tri-folds(at least seasonal) – Right to the point, with MAINLY getting your name out there. Just my 2 cents worth.
Dawn, I personally do the follow up calls about 1 week after services are done. I do not call on basic oil changes. It is amazing the positive response I get. I think it really helps when they hear from the owner versus a receptionist, etc. I probably only reach 1/2 of them, but of course I leave a nice message. Couple ideas: We have magnets shaped like a wrench that people love to take(Are on the front counter) – And hopefully all are putting it on their fridge. Yes, the special was for this service. I suppose we could include services we offer/do but this would defeat the purpose of the letter in my opinion. I am re-doing the fall one, with some changes as Tom suggested.
